YELLING INTO THE VOID

I’m here (here is currently Los Angeles by way of Grand Rapids, Michigan), I have ideas (I think they’re good, or at the very least thought-provoking), but I’m pretty sure I’m shouting into the void. I’m used to people not really listening to me when I talk or wanting to engage with my ideas. I often get quiet in larger groups. That’s why I write. I have friends, some that I’m quite close with but I don’t know how to always engage with them so I sit with my computer or my phone and I write about whatever’s swirling around in my head hoping that my words connect with someone (ideally lots of someones!). I think I’m rational. I also think sometimes I’m radical (because people don’t always know how to respond to my ideas). Or maybe I’m just losing my mind (that’s definitely happening).

Either way, I’ve been marching to the beat of a different drummer for a long time and I continue to get more and more comfortable with that. I don’t mind getting lost. I like exploring. I like challenging ideas and concepts that are exalted by large population groups but clearly flawed and broken (hello organized religion). I also like dissecting things that are absurd and ridiculous (hello The Bachelor franchise).

While you’re here I hope you find some of the ideas I write about, or even kernels from the text, engaging and thought-provoking. Or you might get to watch someone slowly lose their mind over time. Enjoy!

p.s. I like parentheses.
