“THE WAR ZONE” PROPOSAL

I propose that we have women lead all major governments and hold all senior leadership roles within their respective countries. It’s becoming increasingly apparent that men can’t do it anymore (because they have huge egos and small dicks, also, we’re they all that great at it anyway?). We will then allot various regions around the world that are small and desolate for men with inferiority complexes to fight each other (women can join too if they want).

The US can give up the Mojave or parts of Nevada. I’m also open to other regions/territories that are desolate (I’m thinking Florida might be down for carving out a 30-50 square mile section of swamp for this) but not anywhere around the PNW. There’s a lot of options in Russia, especially in the tundra and desolate perma frost areas. The Middle East and China are also welcome to donate some mountainous regions if they would like to be a part of it (We could have each major topographical type of terrain represented!). Think of it like modern day gladiators with various arenas.

Military contractors like Raytheon and Northrop Grumman can pay for the use of the land and supply the hardware (think of all the growth opportunities for their stocks). Different networks and Facebook can battle for overall broadcasting rights (because our society is broken and people would watch the shit out of these battles) or have an exclusive on specific regions/territories so everyone gets a part of it.

The citizens of Russia don’t want this war

Meanwhile regular citizens can go on living their lives and working through these regional conflicts without resorting to war because the vast majority of us want to live in peace and not have to live through war that they didn’t vote for. Younger generations have grown up in a more interconnected global community than previous generations. We don’t view these conflicts in the same way older generations do. We want to solve problems, not create more chaos and bloodshed.

Another upside to potential war zones though might be militaries significantly reducing themselves in size. This would benefit the real existential battle: the survival of our species and combating climate change. The US Military is one of the top carbon emitters in the world, emitting more than many countries.

This is very very bad

Maybe that’s another element of the problem: 60+ year old leaders who grew up during the Cold War having a different view of the world than my generation. We’re more curious and less afraid. Less concerned about amassing power against our adversaries because we generally don’t see that as the issue (but we do like amassing power and control over our own communities which is not great) or threat to our well-being.

Because he doesn’t like this pic

Alternate titles: The Warlympics, The War Olympics, Conflict Resolution Zones (but that one’s kinda lame) where government sanctioned armies battle each other without actually destroying cities and killing civilians who have no interest in the politics and war. You want to annex a country? Fight them in one of the war zones and whoever wins gets their way. But allies can help if they choose.

Obviously the absurd idea about War Zones won’t happen but it feels like we’re hurtling towards a dystopian future so I’m cynically leaning into it. It has been a very sad and depressing few days.
